When the Winter Games take place in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo from February 6 to 22, 2026, the world will be looking to Italy. But long before the first competition begins, the emotional overture to the Games will commence: the torch relay. With a modulbox MAX, we are accompanying a nationwide roadshow that carries the flame through Italy – visible, tangible, and close to the people.
The modulbox on roadshow: Kick-off for the 2026 Winter Games
The Torch Relay is much more than a logistical project. It is a symbol of community, movement, and anticipation. At the beginning of December, the modulbox was officially handed over to the organizing team – and with that, the starting signal was given for an extraordinary roadshow through Italy. In around 60 days, the modulbox will stop at around 60 locations across the country. From metropolises to smaller towns, from bustling squares to historic backdrops: wherever the torch arrives, the modulbox will become a meeting place for sports fans and local communities.
Inside the modulbox: experience room, photo booth, and snowboard action
A look inside reveals just how versatile our modular space solution for events and roadshows can be. At the center of the box is an interactive snowboard simulator that awakens sporting enthusiasm. On the right-hand side is the centerpiece of the campaign: the torch. This is where another highlight comes in: the box becomes a walk-in photo booth where visitors can take photos with the torch.
This turns the torch relay into a personal experience and the modulbox into a place of memories.
Smooth operation guaranteed: one system, one driver, and 60 stations
What appears effortless at first glance is actually the result of precise planning:
A modulbox driver accompanies the roadshow along the entire route, taking care of transport, setup, and dismantling—and ensuring that our system is perfectly staged at every location. From December 6 to January 25, the Torch Relay will cover a total of 12,000 kilometers – 10,001 torchbearers are involved in bringing the flame safely and ceremoniously to the venue. Among them are not only committed citizens, but also prominent names from sports, culture, and society: tennis stars such as Flavia Pennetta and Jasmine Paolini will be there, as will MotoGP world champion Francesco Bagnaia and soccer player Cristiana Girelli.
A project of this magnitude thrives on strong partners (main sponsor Eni S.p.A) who bring the roadshow to the streets. The focus is on the journey of the flame, the people along the route, and the shared anticipation of the Games.
