modulbox MAX on a vital mission.
Our modulboxes are used as powerful ambassadors, often for brand staging and product presentations. But in this special mission, the modulbox MAX unleashes its potential as the central component of an initiative that aims to do nothing less than save lives. Instead of advertising: responsibility. Instead of product demonstrations: a social mission of European significance.
Every eight minutes, someone in Germany suffers sudden cardiac death. Every second counts in the event of cardiac arrest, but it takes the emergency services an average of nine minutes to reach the scene. Immediate chest compressions can triple the chances of survival. However, the rate of lay resuscitation in Germany is too low at around 50 percent.
When Danish international Christian Eriksen collapsed during the first group match at EURO 2021, his rescue on the pitch served as a wake-up call for the whole of Europe. This led to the ‘Get Trained, Save Lives’ campaign – a collaboration between UEFA and the European Resuscitation Council (ERC) – and Germany became the stage for an unprecedented lay resuscitation training programme during the 2024 European Football Championship.
The modulbox MAX toured the fan zones of all ten venues as a mobile space for chest compressions and CPR training. The result: 40,000 football fans were trained as potential lifesavers – in the midst of the hustle and bustle, between bratwurst, public viewing and kick-off.
“Get Trained, Save Lives” – Kick-off for the next round
The campaign will continue its journey in 2025. Once again this year, modulbox MAX will be at the heart of the action when it comes to making resuscitation tangible. Its deployment plan focuses on the hotspots of European football: whether at the Europa League final in Bilbao or the Champions League final in Munich – everywhere, people were busy pressing buttons instead of just cheering.
The modulbox MAX will also play a key role at the UEFA Women’s EURO in Switzerland: two systems will tour eight venues to reach even more people – low-threshold, uncomplicated, effective. Thanks to its mobility and reusability, the modulbox MAX turns theory into real action competence.
The formula for success: live communication meets timing meets sustainability
Why do international organisations such as the ERC repeatedly choose modulbox systems? Why is modulbox MAX the perfect solution for such an important campaign?
1. It creates visibility for important content.
The modulbox MAX is an eye-catcher with a message. Large enough to accommodate a car and with up to 100 m² of customisable space, it draws attention to key messages at every event – and brings them to life.
2. It is always in the right place at the right time.
The modulbox MAX can be set up in just over an hour. This flexibility and rapid deployability is particularly evident at the current Women’s EURO in Switzerland: two modulbox units are shuttling between eight fan zones – even during ongoing operations. Set up in Basel on Monday, transport to Geneva on Tuesday – no problem at all.
Here’s an insight into how it works:
3. It is a recycling pro.
What makes the modulbox so impressive is its recycling concept: instead of single-use structures, the modulbox focuses on durability. Its high-quality, recyclable design allows for countless cycles of use. No packaging waste, no waste. A principle that is not only environmentally friendly but also economically sound – and perfectly suited to organisations that think long term.
After all, it’s not about a one-off event. It’s about sustainable change. And that’s exactly what the modulbox MAX is becoming a mobile ambassador for – across Europe, for years to come.
The success is measurable: the ‘Get Trained, Save Lives’ campaign received the prestigious European Excellence Award in the ‘Multi-Channel Communications’ category. 4 billion impressions, 4.7 million social media engagements and 176,000 people trained – figures that show what happens when the right idea meets the right infrastructure.
#herzsicher – with the Björn Steiger Foundation, the German Heart Foundation and the DFB
The #herzsicher initiative – a collaboration between the Björn Steiger Foundation, the German Heart Foundation and the DFB – also relies on the modulbox MAX as a mobile space for resuscitation training. In addition to the ERC-UEFA campaign, it runs at events such as the DFB Cup Final or the UEFA Nations League as an independent project with the same educational goal.
But #herzsicher is not limited to sport: the aim is to provide comprehensive free first aid training – with a focus on resuscitation and the correct use of AEDs (automated external defibrillators). The offer is aimed at clubs, companies and private individuals. For groups of eight or more participants, the platform provides certified trainers who conduct the training directly on site.
Mobile rooms such as the modulbox MAX can support, scale and visualise these training courses – whether on company premises, as part of campaign days or at location events.
The modulbox MAX as a versatile space – for teamwork, training and new perspectives
In addition to resuscitation training, the modulbox MAX has also proven to be an effective tool for workshops, training and team building in other contexts. A notable example is the Outside Society, a concept developed by Karsten Kossatz in 2019 to offer workspaces in the midst of nature – away from rigid office structures and towards inspiring places for brainstorming, strategy development and teamwork. The modulbox MAX was a perfect match here: as an energy-self-sufficient system with photovoltaics and battery storage, it offered everything needed to work productively – even in remote regions.
Another example is the collaboration with Röchling Industrial. The internationally active plastics processor purchased three modulbox MAX systems for a cross-location health campaign. More than 1,400 employees at 10 different locations have already taken part in training courses on back health, trip hazards and healthy eating – in flexible, mobile rooms directly on the company premises. In this way, health promotion became part of everyday working life. The effort: minimal. The effect: sustainable.
The psychology of learning
Why does mobile training work so well? It’s because of the environment. People learn differently when they are in a relaxed atmosphere. The fan zone is not a sterile training room – it is a place of joy, community and positive energy.
In the modulbox MAX, everything is real: the resuscitation dummy, the pressure you have to apply, the feeling when you press correctly. And all around you are other people doing the same thing. Suddenly, ‘I should learn’ becomes ‘I’m doing it now’.
