What does the modulbox have to do with the old pasta factory in Löbau, Saxony?

Good news in Saxony.
Nowadays, the news is often dominated by negative, sometimes devastating reports about crises, war and suffering. In Saxony, too, the focus is on problems and challenges rather than on positive developments and successes. But there are so many good things to report! Of people who are tirelessly committed, of successful initiatives and projects that enrich and advance society.

This is why SachsenSofa, an initiative of the Catholic Academy of the Diocese of Dresden – Meissen and the Protestant Academy of Saxony, invited people to Löbau to talk about what is going well in Saxony.

The renowned educational institutions stand for openness, dialog and interreligious exchange. The small roadshow revealed just how many positive things there are in the Free State. The stage for the good news opened in August and focused on the successes of the people who make the region a little better every day.

The special thing for us was the direct involvement of the initiators, who picked up the modulbox tour themselves, received training and then went on the tour!!! Respect and great to see how the team around Tina Kern pitched in.

The sofa will of course continue to travel through Saxony and offer discussions on a wide range of social issues that affect people in Saxony and Germany.

What do the events offer?

  • Positive developments: Find out first-hand which successful initiatives and projects have been implemented in Saxony.
  • Committed people: Hear from the people who are committed to shaping our community on a full-time and voluntary basis.
  • Future prospects: Discuss with our experts and the audience how we can further promote and expand these positive developments.

More than thirty years after the fall of the Berlin Wall and reunification, the political culture has changed. A mood of crisis is spreading. But what gives us confidence? What will sustain our coexistence in the future and how can it be shaped in the coming years? Where there are questions.

The SachsenSofa brings this debate forward. It is a contribution to a new culture of togetherness in the country.
